David Letterman: Where's Bin Laden?

posted Saturday, 29 April 2006

David Letterman wondered if children can find so many Easter Eggs at the recent White House Easter Egg Hunt, then why can't Bush find Bin Laden after three years of looking? Just about everything Bush has done over the last few years has been spun as absolutely necessary to finding Bin Laden. But we have not found him. For all the attacks on our freedom Bush has lanuched, he has yet to catch one terrorist.

I challenge the Bush administration to name one terrorist caught because of the Patriot Act, the illegal wiretap program, the massive immigrant deportation program, the Minutemen, or any kind of divine assistance that Bush was supposedly channeling. The shocking thing is that Bush has been given the greatest resources of any normal human being and has choked. He has a hotline to God, supposedly. But apparently, this proves that God is not all-good, because God has not told Bush where Bin Laden is so he can catch him and bring him to justice.

And as we approach our 2400th American soldier being killed in Iraq, Bush still cannot explain the noble cause for which they died. He may claim that it was to stop terrorism. But in fact, terrorism is alive and well, as evidenced by the 7/7 bombings.

And now, the Bush administration is proposing not only a national ID system, but a worldwide one:

The head of the Homeland Security Department's visitor tracking program
on Tuesday called for the creation of a "global ID management system" to
make travel easier while enhancing security...

[Jim] Williams said he wants to join forces with several DHS agencies to
develop a global identification system that would cut wait times, reduce
government fees for travelers, fight illegal immigration and, perhaps
paramount, better defend nations from terrorists.

The US VISIT chief, who already oversees identity inquiries for nearly
every visitor who enters the United States, said a worldwide
identification system will better link nations in the fight against
terrorism. In his speech, he likened al Qaeda operatives and sleeper
cells - including the ones that attacked on 9/11 - to "submarines" that
must surface to kill.

It all sounds good for law and order types. But the problem is, this kind of Orwellian proposal would encourage crime. The Mafia could set up a black market and sell goods that don't involve ID cards. Laws like this would be a bonanza to organized crime. They would do to buying and selling what the drug kingpins have done with drugs -- make billions of dollars off of illegal drugs. And if George Bush thinks you are a terrorist, you cannot buy and sell -- either you have to depend on organized crime for survival or starve.

And these Orwellian schemes would not capture one single terrorist, given the failure of all of Bush's police state measures to catch one.

Bush just re-invented the wheel. Called a PASSPORT - CanAdians need a new ID and Mexicans do too. We both cross the border with ease and ID now, we, like Europe can walk accross in some god-for-saken no mans land, nevermind drive, fly or boat in. A 3,000 mile fence in Canada is a Great Idea. It'll mirror the great Wall of China and be a tourist destination. Just don't jump on the wrong/right side to be an inclusive illegal immigrant, suddenly naturalized AM citizen! argh... or refugee to Canada with instant cash/home/job and social support.

He's (President Bush2) has taken liberty to a build a closed society like the movie "The Truman Show". He is himself a puppet of daddy and rumsfeld; his debt to country is the collective of all debt ever achieved by the USA since it's 1776 founding, a great debt in 7 years vs 230. Who pays, you and I, watch things spin apart soon and it'll be 1973 to 1979 all over again.... oil co's make $$$ but none to be found. Gold can be made in labs at $800 oz and we're hooped again. It will take 10 years of high interest to Pay (stealing from the middle class, what's left of it). His administration is thee worst in history. Yet dictated by Daddy and Rumsf from their ideal 70's concepts: We've done this once; why now again?: and will suffer to recover -again-. Thank you, we've just been AM-Bushed! TIP: Get long term borrowing rates locked in now. WAIT: 2 months for mid-long term savings rates. The country and people are in Debt. Lock in LOW now, it's about to go stupid from Bushs' magic wand of non-brillance. Get out of Debt, this correction will hurt. And yes, the next administration will be the blame: yet it is the baton from Bush...with a laugh - - let them fix it.... Yahoo, haw ha

It was this administration and policies that have ruined the country and economony and bear the burden to the middle as usual. They (this admin) remains the 1% cream and always never lose no matter what the price of gold, oil, or human life is. They win. But how much is too much.? They cannot know as it's so OUTside their sphere that everyday is a good day. (Powerful/relaxing}" day. Head's up!!
